Youth head to New York City to work with MDS
Seven high-school and college-aged youth and six adults, all from Zion Mennonite Church, have recently completed a week of voluntary service through Mennonite Disaster Service at the Staten Island worksite. The group left Donnellson early on July 19 and returned July 27. While in New York, they repaired flood-damaged homes and cleaned up beaches which had been damaged by Hurricane Sandy. They also worked with a local non-profit group to serve a meal to residents in the area, and had a great time getting to know the youth group from Ontario, Canada as they lived and worked together for the week.
