On Sunday Feb 8th, 2015 the Zion Mennonite Youth Group hosted a soup & sandwich lunch for Souper Bowl of Caring. This is an organization that started 25 years ago in South Carolina with a simple prayer: ‘As we enjoy the Super Bowl football game, help us be mindful of those without a bowl of soup to eat,’. They are focused on ‘tackling hunger’ in their own local communities.
The luncheon was a total success!! They served approximately 60 people & raised $747!! This total amount will be sent to the North Lee County Food Pantry in Ft. Madison. Thanks for helping us Tackle Hunger!!
