Worship is the highlight of our congregational life. We meet for worship every Sunday morning, and our pastor works closely with the Worship Committee to provide rich and meaningful worship services for the congregation. The pastor’s sermons are Bible-based, often illustrated by art work, photographs, and maps related to the Biblical text. Our services are enriched by music, singing, dramatic readings, and offerings. We sing hymns from Hymnal: A Worship Book, and other spiritual songs of praise and worship.
Adults in our congregation participate in worship in a variety of ways, providing a multi-voiced worship experience. Children are also welcomed and included in worship. Each service includes Time with the Children, when the children come forward to hear a story, and young people often participate in worship by lighting the candles, serving as ushers, reading scripture, and providing special music.
Occasionally our worship schedule changes, especially if we have invited a guest speaker to bring the message on a Sunday morning, so be sure to visit the Worship Schedule page for accurate worship times.
We also occasionally schedule special worship events such as concerts. For instance, the Eastern Mennonite High School performed a concert in our church this spring, and we hosted the Bluffton College choir in March 2011 and musician Bryan Moyer Suderman in concert in April 2011.
